N

hooligan:

Pronunciation:  'hü-li-g&n

Function:  noun

Etymology: perhaps from Patrick Hooligan fl1898 Irish hoodlum in Southwark, London

: RUFFIAN, HOODLUM

We chose that name because it is a tribute to being a bad influence.  When my brother John and I were in college, he had a roommate named Brian.  When Brian’s Mom caught wind of the hijinks we were engaged in with her baby boy, she was less than pleased.  We had lured her son to the dark side...a place he has lived ever since.  She would relentlessly tell him

“I DON’T WANT YOU HANGING AROUND WITH THOSE HOOLIGANS!”  Luckily for all of us, he never listened.  Although he was the only one of us that graduated.
